Washington

In November Jake and I had the chance to have a little getaway so we decided to go up to Washington. Thanks so much to Lacy and Ben for babysitting for us, and thanks so much to Isaac and Taniel for coming with us and showing us around. We had such a fun time.

We first went to Seattle where we at some great fish and chips, and walked around Pike's Market, sampling some great food. This picture is in front of a gum wall. All of those dots of color you see behind us are already been chewed gum. It was pretty gross to think about it, but interesting to see. We stayed in Seattle that night and the next day we went to Chinatown where we enjoyed looking through the little markets trying to guess what the food was in the containers, being thankful we didn't have to eat it.



Jake enjoyed having the opportunity to brush up on some of his Chinese, and then we ate some great pot-stickers, dumplings, and soup at some little hole in the wall place with great food and questionable cleanliness.

We then went to the Museum of Flight. It was very interesting walking through the Concord Jet, and the old Air Force 1 plane, and seeing the different kinds of planes there, learning a little about the history and learning so much from Isaac since he knows so much about airplanes.
They also had a flight simulator that Jake and Isaac tried out.



After spending the day in Seattle we went up to one of the islands, where Taniel is from. We were pretty lucky to have a day of sun the first day we were in Washington, but the other days were cold and rainy, but I loved it! It was so pretty up there.

The boys tried to crack the kelp on the shore.


On the ferry headed back home on Sunday. We had such a great time, it was a nice little break from regular life and I don't think I laughed so much in a long time... actually since I was cleaning my mom's carpet and eating apples and yogurt (right lacy and lindz?).
