I think this pregnancy is taking over my brain...

I was on my way out the door to run some errands with the kids and I went to pick up the keys, where they always are, hanging up by the door, and I couldn't find the keys to the van. I looked in every place that I could have placed them, and couldn't find them anywhere...

Later I was making dinner. I went to go get the lettuce out of the refrigerator and guess what I found. Yes, I found my keys in the refrigerator. I don't remember putting them in their, and I really don't think Jake did it because I was the last one to use the keys. I have an idea of when I may have done it, but... who knows. I can blame this on my pregnancy right? Or am I just losing my mind?

Ragnar

This past weekend Jake was able to run the Wasatch Back Ragnar Race. I was sad that I had to be left at home this time but figured I didn't want to have this baby on some remote road in Northern Utah with fellow racers to help me deliver. If it did happen I would have also felt obligated to name our baby girl after Ragnar, and I really don't think that is a good girl's name. Maybe if I was going to have a boy...

But I am glad that Jake was able to run the race with his sister Laura.



Running 190 miles between their team members, with no rain this year to give them a break from the heat, and only getting an hour or two of sleep, they did a great job. Both Laura and Jake had some hard legs they had to run and they did awesome.

Island Park

On June 10th we were able to go to Island Park for a little family vacation for a few days with Jake's family, and we had a great time. It was a little cold and rainy, but that didn't stop us. We went on a few little walks/hikes,




saw some amazing waterfalls,

went Geocaching and found some awesome treasures,

floated down the river, and saw some moose along the way. We also tie-dyed shirts, ate some great food, and had a fun girls (plus a few guys) night out going to see Beauty and the Beast at the Playmill in West Yellowstone. Thanks Taniel for making it possible. We had a great time.

California

On May 13th we went to California. My brother Blaze got married to the cutest girl named Joanna. She is from Mission Veijo, California. She and Blaze are perfect together and we are so excited to have her in our family. The wedding was on Saturday at the Newport Beach Temple, which is such a beautiful temple. That whole area of California is nice, and even with the smog, it smelled of fresh flowers and blossoms everywhere we went. The wedding was so nice, and the reception was beautiful, but by the end of the day the kids were tired and we could tell Brooklyn was getting sick so we didn't get many pictures with her being happy.

The next weekend we were in Nevada for the reception, and there William was sick and Brooklyn was tired, so it was a long evening, but the reception turned out great and Blaze and Jo were so cute together.




After the wedding and before we left for Nevada we decided to have a little fun.

On Sunday we ended up in a Chinese speaking ward. My dad met up with an old missionary companion from the area who was the High Council speaker in the Chinese ward. Jake was so excited to use his Chinese and speak to a few people. It was a really small branch and so they were excited when my whole family showed up. They even asked Jake to give the opening prayer in Chinese.

On Sunday afternoon we drove to the beach. It was cold, but the kids were so excited about being on the beach that it didn't phase them much.


Brooklyn had a fever so she wasn't able to enjoy it much, but I think she enjoyed cuddling with grandpa.


It is amazing how much the kids were entertained by the water and the waves. They could have played for hours and they were soaked, jackets and all, at the end. To bad the ocean is so far away from Utah.
On Monday we went to Disneyland, Jake's new favorite place to go. Can you tell by the picture? The kids had a great time. It was perfect weather and not to crowded. We started out on the Indiana Jones ride and Jake got Hannah, who was the only kid tall enough to go, to go with him. I don't think Hannah realized what she was getting into, she was scared through the whole ride, but by the end she said she had a good time.

We got some great seats for the parade and the kids loved seeing the characters and dancers.



The kids favorite rides were the Nemo ride and rocket ride. We only saw one princesses, the one from the Princess and the Frog, and so Hannah was a little dissapointed about that. At the end of the day I asked Hannah what her favorite part of the day was, and she told me that she liked shopping in the Princess store the best. Next time we might just leave out the Disneyland part and just go shopping.


We all had a great time at Disneyland and even though Brooklyn still had her fever and didn't feel very good, she was great, and just hung out in her stroller all bundled up. She even enjoyed a few rides.
The next day we went to Seaworld. We went prepared for a cool rainy day and came away with sunburns. The kids loved seeing all of the shows and animals there. Jake even got William to go on the Journey to Atlantis roller coaster, which he enjoyed until the first major drop, which was at the beginning of the ride. The rest of the time he was almost in tears telling Jake that he was done and wanted to get off. I think a few of the others on the ride were a little concerned, and were giving their words of encouragement to him. He did great though and I think he enjoyed the ride after he was done.


Hannah and William went on this ride with my sister Lindsay. They are at the top of the picture. They would not let me on because I was pregnant, so I was bummed. At Disneyland they never stopped me, but at Seaworld they wouldn't let me on any of them.

They wouldn't even let me on this Elmo ride. You can see why though... this ride look INTENSE doesn't it. It would have sent me into labor for sure!!



The kids loved the Sesame street part of Seaworld, and the new 4-D Elmo movie.

Brooklyn's favorite part was this fish. She still wasn't feeling to good, and cried if Jake wasn't holding her. She was not very happy, but she loved this fish.

Hannah's Birthday

We were able to celebrate Hannah's 6th birthday before we went out of town. Hannah is such a sweet girl, and growing up way to fast. She is such a big help to me with everything. Especially now that my belly is getting big and it is harder to bend over a pick things up. She tells me, "Mom, now that your tummy is big, you don't have to bend over anymore. I will pick up everything for you." She does pretty good too. She is doing such a great job with her reading and writing in Kindergarten and is so excited for 1st Grade next year.
Things I love about Hannah... she is thoughtful and aware of others' feelings, she reads to William and Brooklyn, she loves music, dancing, and singing, a day doesn't go by without her telling me about one or many of her aliments, she is a great eater and always tries new things, but her favorites are Mac and Cheese and Hamburgers, she loves being a girl and everything that comes with it, but also loves to collect worms out of the garden. We love having her in our family.

Over the weekend...

We had a great mother's day weekend. We started it out running the Race for the Cure 5k on Saturday morning. It is amazing how many people run this race, and how many people breast cancer affects.



We also got our chicken coop finished. So now our garage doesn't stink, and our chicks are very happy. Brooklyn is too.

Easter

We had a great Easter this year. We celebrated a week early with Jake's family with a egg hunt and dinner, and then Easter weekend my family came in. My mom still has each family a Easter basket, and I love it. She usually hides them around town (when we are at home) and we are sent with clues to find them, but since this year we were in Utah, we didn't hide them around town, instead she had each of the families do a service to get their basket, and since we were at my house, the service they did was for me. Thanks so much family for helping me out. Not only did I get an Easter basket, I got a clean house and a garden planted.

Then the kids had an Easter egg hunt.


We also got chicks this year for Easter. The kids love them.





Brooklyn's Birthday


Brooklyn is two. I can't believe that my baby is two. We had a great birthday for Brooklyn on April 1st. Thanks family for coming and helping us celebrate. She got some of her favorite things for her birthday... clothes, shoes and Barbies.


Brooklyn is such a sweetheart and growing into her own little personality, a very independent one. It is fun to see her learn new things and grow each day. I love so many things about Brooklyn. I love that she loves to clean. Her favorite things are to vacuum and put the clean knives and forks away. I even caught her once cleaning the toilet with a wipe once.


She love animals. She misses Peaches, the dog that was staying with us for a while. She cried when Lacy took her and she wanted to go with the dog. For Easter we got little chicks and she is completely content to just sit and watch them in the box, and I knew if I couldn't find her, she would be hiding by the chick's box dumping food in for them.

I love it when out of the blue she yells, "Ayy you guys!" (Off of the electric company) The last time she did it was when we were eating our breakfast, it was quiet, she had on these awesome 3-D glasses, and suddenly she yells "Ayy you guys!"

She loves music, painted toenails, dancing, sucking on her blanket, her milk, all her Aunts, her babies, even the one in her tummy, being outside, and putting on my mascara. If I ever can't find Brooklyn, I know she is upstairs getting into my makeup. We love having her in our family.
